From Field To Pork

At Penpethick Farm we have taken the unusual step of deciding not to sell any of our Gloucester Old Spot pork.

We now offer a totally different way to purchase your pork by giving you the opportunity to purchase a pig and we will rear it for you. We have lots of experience and have been breeding Gloucester Old Spot pigs since 2004 so your pig will be in safe hands.

Our herd of Gloucester Old Spot pigs all live free range lives, enjoying the outdoors and living as nature intended them to.

The origin of the pork that ends up in our supermarkets and ultimately on our plate has shocked many people. That's why we have decided to offer 'From Field to Pork' to everyone interested in knowing how their pork is raised.

The beauty of this scheme is that you do not need to own land or even own a pair of Wellington boots. You get to choose a pig to be reared from start to finish and get the satisfaction that the pig that you adopted will be the best pork you have ever tasted. You will know how it has been reared and where it has been reared.

You choose your pure bred Gloucester Old Spot pig and visit the farm if you wish

Your pig is then slowly reared using traditional methods, free range, no unnecessary medication and given lots of attention and affection.

You will be sent an adoption certificate, photo's and receive regular updates by email.

At the appropriate time and weight your pig will go to slaughter and you will be asked to tell us how you would like your pork jointed .

Your pork will then be delivered to your door ready for the freezer.
The total cost of the pig is £295 which is split into 3 payments of £75.00 and one payment of £70.00. A deposit is paid via this site and then 2 payment requests will be sent by email prior to slaughter
The delivery charge is £24.50
